Understand today. Always by your side.
Behind every diagnosis there is a person, and in pediatrics, that person is a child.
A diagnosis can suddenly fill a child's world with unfamiliar words, new doctors, tests, medications, and uncertainty. My First Diagnosis was created so children are not left outside the conversation about their own health.
Our goal is to turn fear into understanding and medical complexity into stories children can connect with.
So no child and their family has to go through a diagnosis alone.

Founder & Author
Hi, I'm Abril Escobosa — founder and author of My First Diagnosis.
I created these books because I believe children deserve to understand what is happening inside their own bodies.
Medicine is filled with extraordinary science, but a diagnosis is also a deeply human experience. My First Diagnosis brings those two worlds together — translating medical concepts into stories, illustrations, and conversations that children and families can understand.
My goal extends beyond creating books. I want to help build a generation of patients, families, students, and healthcare professionals who approach medicine with greater understanding and empathy.
More than a story — every book helps children learn, feel seen, and know they are not alone.

My First Diagnosis began with children's books, but the vision is much larger.
We believe healthcare becomes better when knowledge and empathy exist together.
We envision a world where children understand their health, families feel supported, healthcare professionals communicate with compassion, and medical education never forgets the person behind the diagnosis.
